Prof. Gerhard Krejci PhD, HonD
I was born in Vienna in 1950. After studying biochemistry and biology in Vienna and Warsaw I obtained my PhD in 1974. I then worked 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry in Germany and Spain. My last position was Medical Director at Trommsdorff, Germany, for 6 years. Since 1987 I have been running my own CROs, first in Germany for data management and evaluation, later in the UK for the full scope of clinical trials management. Since 1990 we have specialised in performing clinical trials in Central and Eastern Europe. We have carried out more than 300 projects in various indications for drug and device research. Since 2003 I have been a guest Professor at the Medical University of Varna, Bulgaria, where I give regular lectures about the methodology of clinical trials. In 2005 this University granted me the title of a Doctor honoris causa.

Ildikó Lente
I was born in 1964 in Budapest. I obtained my degree in 2002 at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. I worked 7 years at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics Inorganic Chemical Department followed by 4 years at the Organic Chemical Department. I continued my work at the University at the International Education Centre as a Programme Co-ordinator until 2008. From 1996 I worked for Clinical Investigations Ltd. as a freelancer. Since September 2008 I have been administrative and financial director of the company.

Prof. Dr. Agnes Gottsegen
I obtained my PhD and was nominated as Associate Professor at the Technical University Budapest, Chemistry Faculty. For three decades my main interest has been scientific-experimental work in the field of syntheses of naturally occurring O-heterocycles, as flavonoids, pterocarpans, flavanolignans. One of my patents (as a co-inventor) resulted in the first orally administered drug against osteoporosis. For three years I have been a personal assistant of the CEO of EGIS (now Servier) Pharmaceuticals, Budapest. I joined the newly established company, Clinical Investigations Hungary, in 1995, as the first co-worker. Initially responsible for data management and monitoring I was soon entrusted with the entire office organisation, project management and lately the study co-ordination for all the branches.

Prof. Dr. Michael Panijel
I graduated from the Medical University of Bucharest in 1961 as a Doctor of Medical Sciences. From 1962 to 1967 I was Director of the Gastroenterology Clinic in Bucharest. After emigrating from Romania I started a practice for Internal Medicine in Frankfurt, Germany; which I kept until 2007. Since 1971 I conducted trials, both as an investigator and, since 2004, as a head of a CDO. Altogether I oversaw more than 150 projects. In 1990 I was appointed as a Prof. Dr. med. by the University of Carol Davila in Bucharest. I am an active member of several medical societies and Honorary President of the Hadassah University in Germany.

Prof. Dr. Krassimir Metodiev MD, PhD, DScmed, FUICC, FHMO, FNRH
I am professor of immunology and microbiology at the Medical University of Varna, and Head of Department Preclinical and Clinical Sciences. I have published over 250 papers and written 5 medical books. I am President of the International Medical Association Bulgaria, and Secretary General of the Federation of European Societies for Chemotherapy, Infections and Cancer. I am editor and member of the boards of several journals and a fellow of the UICC in Geneva, referent and director of ARW on bioterrorism at the Scientific Affairs' Division of NATO, guest-professor at Munich and Ulm, Oslo, Krems, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv Universities. In May 2008 I was appointed Honorary Consul of Israel in Bulgaria. My biography has been included three times in the Who-is-Who in the World. I joined Clinical Investigations Ltd, in 2001 as a general representative in Bulgaria.

Dr. Eleonora Karbova
I was born in 1970 in Varna, Bulgaria. I studied at the Medical University of Varna and gained my degree in 1995. I worked for two years as a general practitioner, one year at the Hadassah Medical University of Jerusalam in the Department of Gynecology. I then worked for four years at the Norwegian Radium Hospital as a PhD student and researcher in the field of gynecology pathology. Since 2005 I have worked for Clinical Investigations Ltd as a CRA, and from April 2007 as a pharmacovigilance manager.

Roxana Darie
I studied Law at the "Titu Maiorescu" University in Bucharest. In 2004 I obtained the "Master in Business Law", specialising in International Negotiation. After the Master’s I took a post graduate course in "Competition Law" and graduated in 2006. From 2004 I was a member of The Colleges of Judicial Counsellors in Romania and in 2007 I became a Senior Legal Adviser. I have been working in clinical trials since 2006 and I have been the Legal Manager of M&M CRE since October 2008. I am involved in clinical trials from the feasibility negotiations to the close of the study. I also offer legal guidance to all the departments of the organisation and the main areas of the law: corporate, negotiations, European legislation, contracts, labour law, etc.

Ildikó Láng
I was born in 1962 in Budapest. I studied biology at the University of Science in Budapest and received my degree as biologist, M.Sc. in 1985. After finishing university I worked for a pharmaceutical research company as research worker in microbiology for almost 20 years. Then a colleague of mine suggested a position at Clinical Investigations Ltd which I gladly accepted. Since that time, I have been working as Quality Manager. I regularly take part in GCP training. Since the beginning of 2009 I have been responsible for the project management of clinical trials in Hungary.

Pharm Dr. L’ubica Hladíková
I was born in 1974 in Martin, Slovakia. I graduated from the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in the Czech Republic in 1997 (Master degree – Mgr.). In addition to working for the Institute of Virology at the Slovak Academy of Science I continued my studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Bratislava, Slovakia, where I graduated in 2001 (Doctor of Pharmacy degree - Pharm Dr.). My first experience in clinical research was as a CRA in 2000. Since 2002 I have worked for Clinical Investigations Ltd. I am now a branch director with responsibility for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We have worked on trials in rheumatology, neurology, allergology, pneumology and vaccination and on non-interventional safety surveys. I have been contracted several times as a consultant, mainly for regulatory issues or contracts administration.

Dr. N. med. Daria Podgórska
I was born in 1960. In 1985 I graduated in Medicine in Warsaw. I specialise in neurosurgery and neurotraumatology. In 1998 I gained my PhD from the Warsaw Medical Academy. I followed a course of Management Training at the Warsaw Postgraduate Management Study Centre and received an MBA in 2002. I worked for 15 years at the Department of Neurosurgery in the District Hospital for Paediatric Surgery. Since 2007 I worked part-time as a neurosurgery consultant at the Outpatient Department of the Children Hospital in Warsaw. Since 2001 I have worked for Clinical Investigations Ltd as a branch director responsible for trials in Poland. My expertise is in neurology, haematology, gastroenterology rheumatology and ophthalmology. From January 2008 I worked as a Medical Manager of the biotechnological laboratory for human cell cultivation.

Laura Turculeţ, MD, Pharm.
I was born in Bucharest where I graduated at the Faculty of General Medicine in 1996 and at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Faculty of Pharmacy. Since 2007 I have specialised in Clinical Pharmacology. Between 1997 and 2008 I worked at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Pharmacology Department. My last position was as a lecturer. Since 2005 I have been working in clinical trials for M&M Clinical Research where I was involved in monitoring, project management and quality assurance activities. We performed over 13 clinical trials phase II-IV in rheumatology, neurology, gastroenterology, oncology, allergology.

Dr. Anna Masseva
I was born in 1971 in Sofia. I studied Medicine until 1997 at Sofia Medical University with guest appointments in Milan, Cairo, and Ohrid. For 3 years I was president of the International Medical Student Organisation. Since 2005 I have specialised in gynaecology and obstetrics. In 2004 I joined Clinical Investigations Ltd, first as a monitor then as a project manager. In 2008 I became CEO of Clinical Investigations Bulgaria.
